SAMeCiPP President
Dear Readers,
More than five decades
after its founding,
the Sociedad Argentina de Medicina y Cirugía de Pie y Pierna [Argentine Society
of Foot and Leg Medicine
and Surgery (SAMeCiPP)] continues to serve
as a cornerstone in the de-velopment of this subspecialty within orthopedic practice
in Argentina, maintaining its commitment to education,
continuing professional development, and academic exchange.
Significant advances
have been achieved
in the diagnosis and treatment
of foot and ankle disorders, driven by a better
understanding of biomechanics and pathophysiology, the refinement of surgical techniques—both open and minimally invasive—and the development of new implants
and reconstructive strategies. This increasingly dynam-ic and
challenging landscape demands continuous updating and a strong scientific
foundation.
In
this context, research plays a central role. The integration of basic science
with clinical research not only enhances our understanding of disease mechanisms but also improves
therapeutic decision-making and the evalu-ation of
treatment outcomes. This interplay between fundamental knowledge and clinical
application is essential for the sustained growth of the specialty.
Through
the articles presented in this issue—including
original clinical research, case reports, and technical notes—we hope to reflect
our colleagues’ commitment to advancing knowledge and strengthening evidence-based practice. In this regard,
scientific publication is an essential tool for fostering critical thinking,
encouraging the exchange of ideas, and promoting continuous improvement.
We would
like to express
our sincere appreciation to the Editorial Board of the Journal of the Asociación Argen-tina de Ortopedia y Traumatología for
its support and collaboration in the preparation of this issue, providing a
high-quality forum for scientific communication.
Finally, we invite all members of our community
to continue actively
participating in the generation and dissem-ination of knowledge, thereby contributing to the
advancement of our subspecialty and, ultimately, to improving patient care.
